Half a Grain is a place to document the photographic journey of Nathan Fitzsimmons, a hobbyist photographer from Maine, USA.
This website was originally called “Unsure.” That was mostly a placeholder until I determined what I really wanted to do with it. While I schemed, I posted random blog posts.
After a year and a half of experimentation, I now know that I am both a landscape and a street photographer, and I love shooting both digital and film cameras. I also know that I will never “make it” in the online photography community without a name that includes a play on “grain” (see, the phrase is normally “half a brain”).
So Half a Grain is the place I show my photos, half digital and half film. Or probably more weighted toward digital, because I am not a rich man.
